What’s going on at “The Store Grocery”?
New addition to “The Store Grocery”, opens Monday.

If you grew up in Anacortes you are very familiar with “The Store Grocery.” Back in the day, known as Jorgensen’s, many of us would ride our bikes to the top of commercial to buy penny candy. Current owners Frank and Priscilla Michaed are celebrating the stores 20th anniversary this year. If you haven’t been in The Store lately, it looks just as you would remember it with the quaint creaking wood floors, the slamming screen door we love, and the smell of all the fresh baked goodies! However…..there is a new addition to our favorite neighborhood store. If you have driven by recently, you may have noticed the construction going on. I recently stopped in and Frank let me check out the renovation. The addition is actually a roughly 500 square foot refrigerator/freezer combo. This fridge/freezer combo is going to be the new home for all of our favorite dairy products, soda, juices, and ice cream. The wall is due to come down by Monday, and the loading of the new coolers will begin. Although The Store is updating to a more modern refrigeration system, by no means has The Store lost it’s great home town 1950′s nostalgic feel. The Store has all of the favorites you remember and more. A Full variety of wonderful wines, mouth watering bakery goods , and toddy coffee for the coffee connoisseur. The Store Grocery is an iconic place to visit in A-Town.
